A Canal-Side Study
This October, The Sartorial Club continues its seasonal journey with a new edition in the heart of the Netherlands: Amsterdam.
In collaboration with The Hand, one of the country’s leading curators of fine footwear and artisanal menswear,we host a special trunk show at the Conservatorium Hotel. Once a 19th-century bank and later a conservatory of music, the Conservatorium now stands as an architectural icon, blending heritage with clean-lined modernity. A fitting backdrop for an exchange between makers, members, and collectors.
Our time in the city extends beyond the showroom. We’ll explore the quiet rhythm of Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed canal belt, uncovering its architectural heritage and artistic undercurrents.
As dusk falls, members will dress for a black-tie dinner aboard a private historic boat, gliding through the canals as the city lights shimmer to life. Fine cuisine, flowing conversation, and a different perspective on the capital—seen not from the street, but from the water.
This is an invitation to experience Amsterdam through its texture, its pace, and its enduring sense of elegance.
Our Agenda for the Weekend
-
The Art of Leather (Oct 10-11th)
This exclusive trunk show brings together two of Europe’s finest leather artisans under one roof.
CHAPAL, founded in 1832, is famed for its iconic pilot jackets worn by French aviators in both World Wars. These leather jackets combine rugged durability and warmth with timeless style—a legacy Chapal continues today through expert craftsmanship and modern inn
From Vienna, Thomas Reiner elevates glove making to an art form. Their meticulous craftsmanship and use of premium leathers result in gloves that are as comfortable as they are elegant, designed to protect and pamper in chilly weather.
Set within the striking Conservatorium Hotel, the trunk show offers members a rare opportunity to engage directly with these artisans, explore their collections firsthand, and select pieces that combine tradition with contemporary sophistication.
